Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made
up of a small group of enthusiastic
volunteers who wanted to make a
difference in the lives of homeless animals.
Our background is with purebred collies
but we are interested in helping other
"family friendly" breeds.
If you are searching for a collie or a
particular breed we'd like to help unite you
with a homeless dog that fits
your family's lifestyle.
All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and
are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
They have also been tested and are
negative for heartworm and are on
heartworm preventative.
We are a group that was formed to help
the animals that are found homeless on the
street or dumped at local boarding kennels.
These are the animals that rescue groups
will not take into their programs because
they were not from a dog pound.
They have no place to go.
We will work with you to list your animal
on our site and give you advice on how to
handle the animal and help place
the animal that you have found.
Our Mission
The mission of Animal Friends Humane
Society is to promote humane principles,
to protect lost, homeless, mistreated
animals and to act as an advocate for
animals in the community.
Our shelter reunites owners with their lost
pets and adopts dogs and cats.
C.A.R.E. (Companion Animal Rescue Effort)
is an association of like-minded volunteers
dedicated to the belief that ALL of God's
creatures deserve humane treatment,
responsible care, and a desire to find
permanent, loving adoptive homes for every
lost,abandoned, stray or otherwise unwanted
animals. Our founding directors, Candy
Martin, RN Steve Martin both worked
independentlyfor years rescuing animals on
their own, and have been associated with
other rescue groups,
Animal Protective Guilds and Humane
Societies.Both recognized some additional
needs forour four footed friends which were
not being met adequately. C.A.R.E. Group of
Ohio, Inc. was formed in the Spring of 2000
to answer those needs, give Candy more
opportunities to save animals as well as work
with them to findproper loving homes.
"Great Lakes Mastiff Rescue, Inc.(GLMR)
exists to place stray or abandoned
English Mastiffs in adoptive homes
which will provide a high level of care
and where the spirit of the
GLMR Code of Ethics is observed.
The Rescue / Placement Service may assist
Mastiff owners, who for any reason,
can no longer provide a home
for their Mastiff."
We are a humane, No Kill,
nonprofit, animal rescue group.
We work out of foster homes.
We also take part in the
Trap Neuter Return program.
