We try to find homes for unwanted, needy animals before they reach an animal shelter where they could be destroyed due to the shelter's overcrowding; We take in handicapped animals who would not be adopted without our "special" help. We ask that if you cannot keep your pet, you please consider us instead. Unlike most animal shelters, we will not destroy an animal unless it is deemed absolutely necessary by one of our veterinarians. The decision to terminate an animal's life is reached only in cases of irreversible physical or behavioral disorders. We have helped people who needed temporary emergency assistance due to catastrophic occurrences; We provide emergency help for injured, stray or otherwise needy animals; We try to educate the public on such issues as animal population control and other areas of vital importance to the health and well-being of animals.

For Our Friends, Inc. is a nonprofit, no kill, rescue group. FOF will keep all our dogs until a loving home is found for them. We are devoted to saving dogs/puppies in need. Many of our dogs have been abandoned and have literally been found by our volunteers in the streets of Queens and the Bronx. We have also rescued dogs due to be "put down" from the Center for Animal Care and Control (CACC). Our group has NO shelter of its own. All dogs are boarded at a veterinary hospital which has kennel facilities. We pay $10/day to board each animal that we have, as well as the fees for the medical care. We are supported soley through the tax-deductible donations that we receive.

H.O.P.E. is a not for profit organization of volunteers dedicated to rescuing abandoned, orphaned and neglected animals facing euthanasia at the Saratoga County Shelter due to lack of space. We give these homeless animals a second chance for a wonderful life, to be part of a family, to be a therapy pet, or just to be someone’s best friend. Our ultimate goal is to find suitable adopters who will provide them with a lifelong commitment of love and care. Homes for Orphaned Pets Exist is not just our name-It is our mission.

Purebred Pals is a rescue organization serving the Rochester NY area. We are comprised of volunteers who have been involved in animal rescue and welfare for over 22 years. Purebred Pals does not have a physical shelter location, we rely on our wonderful foster care givers. Foster people house all of our rescued pets in their home giving the pet shelter, love and care. We focus primarily upon the Purebred dog and cat, however, we will, on occasion, accept a mixed breed pet into our program depending upon our availability. We hope to provide a fulfilling experience to our foster pets as well as the community.

Stray from the Heart's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and place homeless dogs with loving new families. We do so without the benefit of paid employees or a shelter to house these needy dogs. We have a wonderful network of volunteers, such as dog walkers, trainers and foster parents to help support our efforts to rehabilitate and socialize each dog before a permanent home is found for them.

Waggytail Rescue was borne out of the desire and passion of dog lovers who wanted to help the "unwanted" and abandoned animals of New York City. Most of the dogs we rescue are the ones that the City Shelters don't have the time or resources to rehabilitate, so that's where we come in!
