Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) founded in 1996, is a 501 ( c ) (3) IRS tax-exempt, qualified charitable organization that rescues and shelters abandoned, abused, and neglected pets, rehabilitates them and finds them new homes. APR is one of the largest no kill animal shelters in South Florida, where volunteers perform the duties of running the shelter operations on a day to day basis. APR is devoted to the welfare of all animals. The primary goal is to assemble a no-kill community. This is quite a daunting task, nonetheless, APR is making a valuable contribution to the animal community and will continue to do so as long as support is provided from generous donors.

Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay will save as many Dalmatians as possible from area shelters (from Citrus County to Sarasota) that are scheduled to be euthanized due to lack of room, health issues or signs of dismay due to being in a shelter environment. We assist area shelters in placing Dalmatians through ongoing advertisements in local newspapers. Prospective owners are thoroughly screened with home and veterinary reference checks. We house 25 Dalmatians at our care-for-life sanctuary who are unable to be placed due to age and/or medical conditions. We provide ongoing support and education to all adopters. All Dalmatians placed are spayed or neutered and given all medical treatment needed at time of placement.

At Satchel's Last Resort, we try to provide help for dogs, cats and people who have nowhere else to turn. We’ve been doing this for over 10 years; the last three as a registered 501 (c) (3). Taking in so called "un-adoptable" breeds from area shelters, dogs whose owners have abandoned them on the road, animals from terminally ill people who can no longer care for them. Providing temporary care for the companion animals of people who find themselves in situations where they cannot properly care for their pet -- These people don't want to surrender their pets forever; they just need a few months of relief. Fostering animals for the Manatee and Sarasota Counties' Court system (abuse cases). Working with all our rescued dogs to rebuild their trust in humans to the point where they can be trained for therapy work. Animals in our care not suitable for adoption live out their lives with us.
